Tania and John's Engagement Shoot!

Tania and John (and their pups) are a ball of fun! We shot their engagement shoot in the families backyard. It wasn't your normal backyard with a swing set and a BBQ. This backyard had sculptures, ponds, black and white swans, a green house, and pretty much anything you could imagine. The fall colors made the shoot even better with the bright yellows, oranges and reds. We all had do much fun shooting together and I can't wait for their wedding next year! ENJOY!!!

They had a beautiful Catholic ceremony at Saint Joan of Arc church in Lisle, IL. Their reception was held at Esplanade Lakes in Downers Grove, IL. Esplanade Lakes is a gorgeous venue with an amazing nature walk where I shot their couples photos. They had such a beautiful wedding, and I am so blessed to have met them! Enjoy!

Darryl and Adena are such a cute couple! They were married at Pine Rose Cabins, in Lake Arrowhead, CA. This is the first time I had ever shot there, but what a venue! Adena's wedding gown was a vintage dress from Chicago and she had killer Badgley Michka shoes. Every single detail was perfect. Darryl and Adena ended their wedding with Hava Nagila dance. The whole day was incredible and so are they! ENJOY!!

Caylen and Joe are a bundle of fun! We started out in the Art Institute Museum, but there were too many people and the museum was HOT! So we quickly moved outside, but the rain was waiting for us. But when life hands you lemons make lemon meringue pie! Caylen and Joe brought out their umbrella and we started gettin down to business! Both of them were great in front of the camera. Their love totally shined through the rain, and I had the best time with them. We have a second shoot in the works, when the sun will be shinning, so keep a look out! ENJOY!!

MERRY Christmas and HAPPY Chanukah!

I had a wonderful shoot with the Taylor Family this last month. We all bundled up and headed into the cold city of Chicago. And it was COLD! But despite freezing weather, the shoot went great! Their girls were such great models! They both knew how to work it! Atticus, their son, was a little hesitant about a big camera in his face, but he warmed up after his Star Wars toys joined the shoot. Good job Taylor fam! ENJOY!

Regina, Matt and I had a wonderful day shooting in Lincoln Park. We started out by the water and moved to a cute picnic with wine, cheese, and yummy bread from the local farmers market. Their wedding and reception was located at The Temple for Performing Arts in the heart of down town Des Moines. For most of the photos, we went to the PappaJohn Sculpture Park. If you haven't been to this Sculpture Park, you are missing out! It's incredible!

Mike and I really loved shooting Matt and Tashia's wedding and we wish we could have explored Des Moines a little more - but we will save that for our next trip. ENJOY!

This wedding was a while back, but I haven't forgotten how wonderfully elegant Bill and Cathy's wedding day was on that day. They got married in Oak Park at the Church that Home Alone was filmed in...AWESOME! It was quite a church! Beautiful alter, gorgeous ceilings, and incredible stained glass windows. Bill and Cathy's ceremony was great, and so was their reception. I am so privileged to have been a part of their special day. ENJOY!

Were do I begin... So this wedding was one of the most incredible weddings of all time. Jenny May and Jonas were so sweet and a ton of fun! Jonas is from Sweden and Jenny is from California. And so they decided to have their beautiful wedding ceremony in Dana Point, CA and then their reception in Ladera Ranch, CA. Now this is the first time were I think the boys in the bridal party wanted to be photographed more than the girls. Along with a wonderful bridal party, Jenny May and Jonas had a wonderful and welcoming family. From beginning to end their wedding was perfect! Check out Jenny May's Blog, The Swede Records.

Noor, Hani and I had the best time shooting their engagement shoot earlier this month. We were of course in the most amazing city ever...Chicago! And to make the day even better, the weather was nothing short of perfect.

We started out the shoot at the park, moved to Museum Campus, and ended around the lake shore. One shot after another of a beautiful couple and a beautiful city. ENJOY!

So any engagement shoot in Chicago is always amazing! And shooting with Emily and Dan made my experience even better. They had a wonderful idea of starting their engagement shoot at a restaurant called Bonsoiree. Which had now become one of the top ten restaurants on my list. The food was incredible! But even better than the food was Dan and Emily. They were soo sweet. After the Bonsoiree we took the "El" train downtown to the La Salle bridge. It was such a beautiful site above the Chicago river. It was a little chilly, but Dan and Emily were such great sports, and they looked uh-mazing! ENJOY!

Today I was going through some websites and found really creative alternatives for your veil (for the brides) and bridesmaid dress (for your besties)!

Veils are gorgeous! But, sometimes girls like to have different options. I am posting a few different options replacing the veil with a head band or head piece. All of the looks are from an incredible website called ban.do!

Bridesmaid dresses can be so much fun, but sometimes we forget that you can find the cutest dresses at stores that you would go to everyday. The dresses I have posted are just a few of the many adorable vintage style dresses at ModCloth and Anthropologie. Wisconsin!

A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to travel to Wisconsin. Now I know people (like me) who are from California would think "Really? Wisconsin?" But let me tell you!! Wisconsin was absolutely gorgeous! A gem in the mid west. And boy do they love their Cheese! Everyone in Wisconsin is sooo nice and they love the Packers like a Squirrel loves nuts! After passing through the southern border, we saw a beautiful sign off in the distance advertising MARS Cheese Castle! This place was little piece of heaven. Sausages and Cheese curds as far as the eyes could see. And anyone who knows me knows, I LOVE ME SOME CHEESE!

Moving on (lol), We traveled through the country side, seeing rustic barns, gorgeous fields and a beautiful blue sky! ENJOY!

Hey Everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful December. I am traveling a ton, but I wanted to say Merry CHRSTmas! Only 19 days dill the celebration of the birth of Christ! Also, to my very loved Jewish friends, I wanted to say Happy Hanukkah! I posted a great recipe for sugar cookies and I hope you all ENJOY!

Sugar Cookies with a Secret!

Ingredients

¼ cup butter

½ cup butter flavor shortening

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

½ teaspoon orange oil

1 teaspoon grated orange peel

2 ½ cup all purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

In a large mixing bowl cream together butter, shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla, orange oil and orange peel. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture in small amounts until blended well. Refrigerate 1 hour or over night.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Roll dough to ¼ inch thick on a lightly floured board. Cut cookies with a 3” round cutter. (Different cutter shapes can be used but baking time may need to be adjusted.) Baked on an ungreased cookie sheet for 7-10 minutes or until cookies a lightly brown on the edges. When still hot from the oven, sprinkle the tops with additional granulated sugar, or when cool, top with your favorite vanilla frosting. Makes approximately 24 cookies.

Last weekend was crazy; this was the third shoot of the weekend but I had a wonderful time! Sean and Rachelle had their wedding at the Falkner Winery in Temecula. Everything looked amazing, and the ceremony was planned to be just in time for a beautiful sunset. Sean, Rachelle, their son and the rest of the family were so sweet and had a really fun wedding! Rachelle and Sean's Engagement Shoot

Hey everybody, here is the 2nd engagement shoot I did this weekend! We traveled to down town Orange and shot around the historic buildings. We even got to have a vintage Camero in a few shots! We started the day of with some cute shots of Rachelle, Sean and their sweet baby boy. Then we got down to business around the town. We all had such a great time! ENJOY!

Breanna + Anthony's Engagement!

This last weekend was crazy!! So many photos shoots, so little time! But I LOVE IT!!!

On Saturday I got to meet up with an amazing couple down at THE LAB in Orange County. Breanna and Anthony are so freakin cute! They were super playful and really great to shoot. I can't wait for their wedding at the Fullerton Arboretum. We had a great day getting to know each other and their love for each other really shows in each photo! ENJOY!

Chris and Lindsey's Wedding!

I love fall weddings! Lindsey and Chris was my first Fall theme wedding and it was spectacular! The wedding was at the University of Redlands, and my assistant (DJ) and I was very impressed by the campus. The flowers at their wedding, by Mission Florist, were so vibrant with autumn colors. I really enjoyed getting to know Lindsey and Chris and their wedding day. Enjoy!

I had a wonderful time shooting Danielle and Shon's wedding at the Anaheim Sheraton. The entire hotel was like a old German Castle. It was gorgeous! Shon and Danielle were a so amazing, and there ceremony and reception reflected their beautiful relationship. Enjoy!

So today Mike and I were very blessed to have lunch with a new friend, Jimmy Spencer. We had a great talk and he introduced me to his new book, LOVE WITHOUT AGENDA. Alex and Jayson's incredible wedding!

I was extremely blessed to 2nd shoot with an awesome photographer, Robyn Rachel, last weekend and it was amazing!!! The wedding was TO DIE FOR!!!! From beging to end, the couple, Alex and Jayson, had a gorgeous wedding with the best bridal party in the world! Twenty four bridal members in total and they were so much fun! Their reception was at Zed 451, a chic restaurant in the heart of down town Chicago. I had a blast! Enjoy!

So I love walking around Chicago and finding cute boutiques. There are so many to choose from! But yesterday in my search I stumbled upon Zola Jones Designs. Seriously knocked my socks off!!! These bags, wallets, and other accessories were gorgeous and very creative. All products made my Zola Jones are handcrafted made with vegan leather! I can vouch for that! The designer, Jason Loper, was in store making bags when I walked in. Seriously incredible! If you can't make it out to the Chicago area, you can find these bags on etsy. Enjoy!
